GRAMMY-nominated and multi-platinum singer/songwriter/producer Charlie Puth returns with new single “Hero”. Self-produced and co-written alongside John Byron, Jack Rochon & long-time collaborator JKash, Puth first teased the single on social media following a tremendous sign from one of his own long-time songwriting inspirations.

In response to Taylor Swift’s recent lyrical declaration that “Charlie Puth should be a bigger artist,” Puth exclusively told Rolling Stone, “I think I should be. But to me, (if I’m) a bigger artist, I get to inspire more of my fans and people around the world to pick up an instrument. I’d love to be a bigger artist to inspire other people to be bigger artists.”

“Hero” marks the first release from Puth’s highly anticipated fourth studio album, his first since 2022’s CHARLIE which featured platinum-certified hit singles “Light Switch” and “Left and Right” featuring Jung Kook of BTS. To date he has amassed over 35 billion career streams, nine multi-platinum singles (including “Attention,” “How Long,” “We Don’t Talk Anymore” & more), four GRAMMY nominations, three Billboard Music Awards, a Critic’s Choice Award, and a Golden Globe nomination. The past few months have also seen Puth perform in honor of Elton John and Bernie Taupin at the 2024 Gershwin Prize for Popular Song concert and his own 14x-platinum certified song “See You Again” at the 2024 Breakthrough Prize ceremony.

Puth continues to be one of the industry’s most consistent hitmakers and sought-after collaborators across multiple genres, most recently in the K-pop world by co-producing/writing and featuring on Stray Kids’ latest single “Lose My Breath” and producing/writing “Like That” for BABYMONSTER. Meanwhile, his 2021 co-penned/produced single “Stay” for The Kid Laroi and Justin Bieber reigned #1 on the Billboard Global 200 chart for eleven weeks, and his collaboration with Gabby Barrett on their “I Hope (Remix)” earned him his fourth top 10 charting track on the Billboard Hot 100.

Listen to this song and more new music premieres on “The New Music Show”, playing daily at 5.30pm PT/8.30pm ET on Channel R – Today’s Hits & Your All-Time Favorites.
