Miley Cyrus has returned with a sweeping new single, “End of the World,” released on April 3, 2025, and it’s everything fans didn’t know they needed. As the lead track from her upcoming album Something Beautiful (dropping May 30), the song arrives like a glittering meteor—moody, glamorous, and unapologetically emotional. Co-written and produced with a genre-blending team that includes Shawn Everett, Michael Pollack, Jonathan Rado, Maxx Morando, and indie icons from Alvvays, Molly Rankin and Alec O’Hanley, the track feels like a lush cinematic score for a world teetering on the edge.
“End of the World” doesn’t follow trends—it burns them down. With slow-burning instrumentation and Miley’s voice floating between defiance and vulnerability, the song captures that strange, beautiful feeling of dancing while everything falls apart. And the visuals? Just as powerful. The music video, co-directed by Cyrus with Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter, sees her performing on a shadowy, smoke-drenched stage in a stunning emerald Mugler fringe dress. The aesthetic is equal parts old Hollywood and dreamy apocalypse, and it sets the tone for what’s to come.
The full album, Something Beautiful, is being billed as a visual album—a concept piece inspired by The Wall by Pink Floyd. Miley describes it as a “human psychedelic,” an emotional trip designed to blend fashion, storytelling, and sonic experimentation. She’s already released two teaser tracks, “Prelude” and the title song “Something Beautiful,” and together with this new single, they paint a picture of an artist deep in transformation. Miley Cyrus isn’t just making music—she’s building a world. And if it’s the end of the one we know, she’s making sure it sounds and looks unforgettable.
