BLACKPINK’s ROSÉ has released her latest single, “Messy,” marking her first-ever contribution to a major film soundtrack. The track appears on F1: The Album, the official companion to the upcoming racing drama F1 starring Brad Pitt.
Produced by Lostboy and Burns, “Messy” is a sleek, emotionally charged pop ballad that explores the chaos and clarity of a turbulent relationship. Co-written by ROSÉ alongside Cleo Tighe, Delacey, Matthew James Burns, and Peter Rycroft, the lyrics dive deep into vulnerability:
Baby, I’m obsessed with you and there’s no replica / Maybe if it’s messy, if it’s messy, if it’s messy / Then you know it’s really love.
The accompanying music video, released on May 8, features ROSÉ in various Las Vegas settings, including scenes of her walking down the Las Vegas Strip, which was temporarily closed for the shoot. The video intersperses these visuals with clips from the F1 film, adding a cinematic layer to the song’s narrative.
F1: The Album is set to release on June 27, 2025, coinciding with the film’s premiere. The soundtrack boasts a star-studded lineup, including Ed Sheeran, Burna Boy, Tate McRae, Raye, Don Toliver, Doja Cat, and more.
Listen to this song and more new music premieres on “Drop Zone”, playing daily at 5.30pm PT/8.30pm ET on Channel R – Today’s Hits & Your All-Time Favorites.
