MACY is from Abertillery in Wales UK and has always had a passion for music. Determined to pursue her singer/songwriter career at the age of 11, MACY started writing songs and honed her Pop/Contemporary R&B sound. Inspired by Jesse J, Lana Del Rey and Dua Lipa, MACY entered ‘The Open Mic UK” competition in 2011 and performed in the final held at London 02 Arena. This kickstarted her career and after The Open Mic Performance MACY was invited to London by one of the judges to write. MACY has never looked back, collaborating with songwriters and Grammy-nominated producers ever since. She is currently working on a transatlantic collaboration with Ollie Marland (Cher, Tina Turner) which will be her latest, very much anticipated release in February 2023.

2019 MACY became one of the acts to be selected for the Forte 10 project. Whilst on the project, MACY played prime time slots at Focus Wales, Swn Festival, and Hub Festival.2020 MACY released her debut single Cinema, co-written with Violet Skies (who wrote with Mabel – God is a Dancer) and the Grammy-nominated producer, Daniel Lee Evans ‘LVR’(who produced for the likes of John Legend). MACY also released Smoking Gun & Obvious.BBC Radio WALES A-LISTed Obvious for 3 weeks Following the success of these songs, MACY released the follow-up single Wait.

I wrote the song Wait to describe the frustration of being apart from loved ones during the Pandemic, something I think most people can relate too.

MACY returned to work with collaborator ‘LVR’ for her next release Rainbow Eyes, which was released in June 2021. The song garnered impressive radio play in Wales and was added to BBC Radio Wales A-List. Rainbow Eyes along with the subsequent releases Break up Hangover, Sweet Honey and I’m Good, formed part of her first EP release Words 4 Luv.

MACY was invited to perform and appear as a guest on a BBC Radio Wales Christmas show with Scott Quinnel in 2021. She performed 2 songs, her own emotionally charged ballad, Break Up hangover, and a Christmas classic Santa Baby. Other guests included Emeli Sande.

2022 started with MACYs biggest release to date. Pink Bandana, a retrospective look at growing up through old photographs, has amassed over 200,000 streams and continues to push MACY into the playlists and hearts of her ever-growing fanbase. In what has been a cyclone of a year, MACY has amassed an impressive international following with over a million streams worldwide.

When MACY performs live it is the perfect opportunity for her to showcase her vocal versatility that allows her fans to feel the range of emotional energy and topics raised through her songwriting. MACY has continued to perform at multiple festivals and concerts including 110 Above Festival, appearances at Clwb Ifor Bach, and was honored to perform and present at the star-studded BAFTA CYMRU award ceremony, at St David’s Hall, Cardiff. With new music due in early 2023 and a UK tour in the planning, MACY is super excited about what 2023 will bring.
