Jessica Bouhez – Like You

As a teenager, Jessica started writing music at the piano, inspired by Taylor Swift, Halsey, and Daughter. She finally took the first step in the music business with her participation in The Voice of Flanders. There she turned four chairs and kicked them into the battles of the program. She also spends time as a slam poet-artist making it as a regional champion. Her extraordinary writing skills are reflected in her captivating lyrics. Recently Jessica also popped up as an ambassador of the Belgian mental health youth movement Jez! In her daily life, Jessica is an active content creator at DPG Media group in Belgium and on her own TikTok and social media channels.

At the start of her career, she incorporated a mix of cheerful beats and the sadness of young love into her music. With her unique voice, she brings this dance-pop track like an earworm as we are known from bigger names such as NEIKED, Ava Max, or Mabel. There are several pop tracks about to release throughout the year leading to an EP release planned for 2024.

Like You describes a situation where you desperately have to cut off contact with someone because you know it is not right. You start searching for other people, new relationships, and flings to push that person out of your memory. It was written as a tentative ballad about letting go but not quite being able to. Having it worked out in this happy pop tune helps the healing process. Now that I can dance to the song makes me feel like the circle is complete.
