On 5th January Kula Shaker released their brand new single, ‘NATURAL MAGICK’, and shared the technicolor blast that is the video for the track

The title track from their forthcoming new album, ‘NATURAL MAGICK’ follows hot on the heels of their summer hit ‘WAVES’ and the giddy Bollywood-inspired ‘INDIAN RECORD PLAYER’. The new single and album see the emotional needle hurtling into the red with an infectious distillation of every classic Kula moment to date.

Due for release on 2nd February ’24 the band’s 7th studio album finds the reunited original four members of Kula Shaker casting their most powerful spells yet. NATURAL MAGICK is a mesmeric 13-track incantation of blazing psychedelic sermons, stardust-coated pop pearls, and mood-enhancing mantras, all with a potent pinch of their trademark special K.

It was actually very similar to the way we recorded K, back when we only had half an hour to blow people away. We wrote and tested all the songs on the road so they’re are all quite tough and tight in arrangement. If you can take an audience on a fantastical ride in a few short minutes, there’s a thrill and excitement in that. – Crispian Mills

In a development, Kula konnoisseurs have long dreamed about, ‘NATURAL MAGICK’ sees the return of Hammond organ wizard Jay Darlington, after a decade with Oasis and various Gallaghers, completing and re-energising the band’s classic line-up of Crispian Mills on guitar & vocals, Alonza Bevan on bass & vocals, and Paul Winter-Hart on drums.

The kinetic Kula energy courses through every second of the new album, as musically and conceptually the canvas has shifted gear. If their last release, the acclaimed double album ‘1st Congregational Church Of Eternal Love And Free Hugs’ was broadcast from the imagined idyll of Little Sodbury, ‘NATURAL MAGICK’ sounds like it is planted firmly in the rolling 24-hour news-feed mind-mash that is Planet Earth today.

Having completed successful tours of North America, Canada, and Europe in 2023, Kula Shaker will be announcing details of a major UK Tour and a run of in-store signings soon. The band heads to Japan in mid-February, where they will play the following shows:

13/02/2024 JP Big Cat, Osaka
14/02/2024 JP Diamond Hall, Nagoya
15/02/2024 JP EX Theatre, Tokyo
