Belgian singer Kim Kay exploded out of left field and onto the European pop scene with her hit Lilali at the age of 20. Shortly after, a deal with EMI was in place, and hit singles followed along with tours and television appearances, both as a performer and actor, thrusting Kim into the limelight.

Stepping back from touring, Kim enrolled at Ghent Universit,y where she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology. During this time, she played the role of ‘Bo’ in the VTM sitcom Verschoten & Zoon.

In 2004, Kim Kay was diagnosed with cervical cancer. She survived thirteen operations followed by multiple complications, which have kept her bedridden since 2017, when doctors told her she wouldn’t see 2022. In 2023, she lost her mother to cancer, though Kim took this loss as an inspiration to return to music. Alongside a host of international producers, Kim’s sultry pop voice glides on top of hard-hitting pop beats ready for the dancefloor. With slices of romanticism, quirkiness, and uniqueness, Kim tells personal tales of love, hardship, and hope.

It’s now 2025 and Kim is stronger than ever. Fueled by love and strength, her latest release, Life in Reverse, was recorded from her bedside and is her first release since her acclaim of the early to mid-2000s. Kim Kay is back.
