Listen above to our exclusive interview with UK session singer, vocal coach and recording artist Tee Green. Tee spoke about how his new single “When Love Ain’t Enough” came together, his collaborations, plans for new music, touring and advice for aspiring singers.
Tee Green has been a session singer and vocal coach for many years, singing for and coaching some of our biggest recording artists, and also this year made it into the Guinness book of World Records by being the singer who held the longest vocal note in a studio recording, beating all his predecessors, Barbara Streisand, Melba Moore Johnny Nash and Bill Withers. But after a long-term relationship break up, he sadly went into a deep depression, struggling every day, it has taken Tee a long time to deal with this, but during lockdown he returned to what he knows best, “MUSIC”
Music pulled him back into the real World.
It was in the making of his new single “When Love Ain’t Enough” that everyone who knew and loved him came on board, and Tee started to get his life back on track and used the lockdown to get back to what he loves best, Recording….
So, with the help of songwriter friend (Caroline Stevens) and Producer friends (David Stevens and Johnny Douglas) they all got together and created “When Love Ain’t Enough.” The Producers took the Old Skool soul and just added a little bit of whats happening in the music industry today.
In fact, one of the Producers of the song is in the process of starting a new Label, based around Music for the over 30s who seems to be forgotten. Musicality/Songs need to come back.
We don’t want to forget the Young Un ́s and it’s definitely not anti- young people’s music, just an adults music World that provides music for adults, that’s actually exciting, cool, and has older skool creation concepts for a modern digital age. On the other hand we don’t want the over 30s to be embarrassed to say we love Old Skool, and whats wrong with that. After all the biggest selling Artists are people like Adele, Ed Sheeran and Michael Buble, WHY? Because they write and sing real songs…. Which proves there is a market out there full of people who still love to hear a good song in an Old Skool format.
That’s why the new single from Tee Green will appeal to lovers of Songs. A beautiful soulful song that is sung with such emotion and passion it is faultless. Tee said.
Music and good friends helped me to heal and gave me a reason to want to be alive again. I advise anyone who is suffering (from depression) to talk to someone, tell your friends what you’re going through, don’t be ashamed it’s an illness and you’d be amazed once you open up and talk about it how many people are willing to help. Music and friends have helped me get back to what I love doing best.
