A new era begins with 2023 for fast-rising indie rock band Galaxy Thief as they release “YEARS”, the first of five groundbreaking and stylistically diverse new tracks. The result of a second recording session with inspired and talented producer Michael Smith (RYP Recordings – Weird Milk, The Pylons, Honey Lung, etc) in the summer of 2022, this finely and thoughtfully finished new material provides compulsive listening with catchy and original hooks and quick paced songs which explore new creative boundaries while maintaining the impressive instrumental and vocal skills which Galaxy Thief are now known for.

Beyond the realms of a band simply making great music, these boys are a creative powerhouse; a new generation of talent that’s shrink-wrapped with a tightly-packed injection of originality and fun.

A 4-piece grassroots, home-grown indie rock band, Galaxy thief is Ben, George, Jake, and Rhys.  Writing and recording music in their homemade studio on a far near the South Coast affords the band the time and space to evolve their sound on their own terms. Rousing audiences with their incredible live charisma, the band has notched up several hundred live performances throughout the UK (including the main stage at The British Grand Prix and The Invaders of the Future stage at BESTIVAL).

On the one hand it’s upbeat and warmly nostalgic, but with a thread of melancholy and uncertainty for the future, compelling us to cherish the fleeting present. – Lead singer Rhys Messenger describes “YEARS”

The immediate and intuitive wide-ranging appeal of this unique song with its human vulnerability will be sure to make it one to remember for 2023.

Listen to this song and more emerging artists just like this one on “Discover”, playing Sundays at 10 am PT/1 pm ET on Channel R – Today’s Hits & Your All-Time Favorites.
